We’re excited to announce the launch of an exciting and immersive art experience in partnership with internationally renowned, locally based McClelland later this year.
Central to the experience will be Sound Shell – a 2.4m tall sculpture created by award winning artist, Christabel Wigley. Once debuted, visitors are invited to view the magnificent shell and experience the unique soundscape which has been designed to capture the origins of the land. This includes bird calls, audio of the local Bunurong language and ocean sounds from Port Phillip Bay.
The unveiling of Sound Shell will be part of a broader public arts program at Karingal Hub, titled Town Square Arts Trail. This interactive and immersive journey connects the community with the environment, bringing people together and creating a shared sense of belonging.
Designed to be enjoyed by everyone, the Town Square Arts Trail will feature:
- A range of mural artworks, sculptures, installations, games, and furniture that are sure to inspire curiosity
- A walk-through journey from artwork to artwork
- Places to dwell, discover and connect with the local community
