About the project:
The Birth Tree and Family Garden is a beloved project of the Rotary Peninsula 2.0 Club.

Every year, the club plants a tree at Montague Park in Frankston to celebrate the newest members of our growing community. For just $50, families can register their child’s name and birth month on a plaque next to the tree, giving the whole family a special place to visit as the years go by.

100% of the funds raised from the $50 registration fee goes back to organisations in our community helping families. We are proud to partner with Frankston Hospital’s Women’s Health Unit helping with maternal and neonatal health care services and PARC (Peninsula Aquatic Recreational Centre) to help fund more free swim programs for new families in our community.

For those with older children also wanting to participate in the project, their names can be registered as part of the Family Garden which sees children and birth years spanning decades, forever grounding their roots and place in the local community.

Once the year has finished, all registered babies, children and their families are invited to join us for an unveiling ceremony at Montague Park to celebrate the tree and the names of all participants. The day is full of fun, activities, sausage sizzles, coffee vans, prizes, giveaways and more! The next event will be held on Sunday 17 March 2024 from 10am. All families will be presented with a certificate and their own tree to take home to plant in their garden to commemorate.
